| eLearning and Semesters | How can eLearning assist in course conversion to semesters? The move to semesters presents a unique opportunity to weave eLearning into Ohio State's curricula. The objective of this session is to generate suggestions for eLearning support that the Office of the CIO can provide during the transition to semesters. | |
| OSU's Information Technology Security Framework | How can we effectively and efficiently mature IT Security? Over the past several years, IT Security at Ohio State has evolved as a patchwork of policies, standards, technologies and projects largely driven by responses to events. Improving the OSU security posture requires using a best practice framework to manage the gaps and overlaps, and guide risk mitigation activities. This session provides the opportunity to discuss the potential effects on individual units and to solicit valuable feedback and input. Session participants will gain increased understanding of the OSU IT Security Framework and its application to departments. | |
| Cloud Computing Guidelines | How can cloud computing support the university’s business? The cloud computing guidelines project will develop resources that help members of the Ohio State community make informed choices about using common non-contracted "cloud computing" services to support various aspects of the university's business. This session will review and solicit feedback about the context, goals, objectives and plans for the project. | |
| Identity and Access Management Program | What does the Identity and Access Management Program (IdM) Foundation project mean to your unit? Identity and access management is the combination of business processes, technology, and policies used to manage information about a person throughout the lifecycle of his or her affiliation with OSU. Information is used to provide individuals with the right access to the resources they need and for which they are approved. The IdM program has defined key components of identity and access management at Ohio State, and prioritized these into five releases. This session will focus on the initial release – the Foundation project – and the activities included in this release. Discussion will include the current process validation and requirements gathering, Active Directory, and IdM-related recommendations. Participants will gain an understanding of the overall IdM program and Foundation activities. |
